Q:

I would need some guidelines on how to be sure that once we are experiencing fear, anxiety we are not suppressing the feeling but managing it. For example, if I keep repeating: Net Neti, is not just procrastination/postponement of facing the issue? What can I do if the root cause is deep but the feeling of worry needs to be ended?

A:

You will know if your management of the stress and anxiety is simply a suppression, postponement, procrastination or awakening of discernment. It takes time and assessment. Every one has to allow the time to realize the difference. The realized beings used neti neti as the ultimate reminder of truth. It means that truth is deeper and eternal whereas the current situation is temporary.

When you say this phrase internally, don't just say it. Feel it and mean it.

It is not a simple path. It is the path to truth and realization. There will be many doubts and conflicts. It will stir up all that needs to be stirred up within. Don't try to simply and quickly end the feeling of worry. We feel worry and anxiety for a reason. Don't doubt the reason but work towards it. Do not let it paralyze you, let it put you in action.

Root cause is always deep. Not all times we have to or we must look back trying to dig the root cause. At times looking back creates attachment to the past. Just be ready to face whatever it is in the present moment with the best of tools you have.

Practice: Even though your inner most approach must be neti neti (not this, not this), the external approach must be: I am ready to face whatever it is, I am ready to work on the reservoir of my karmas. Be ready to face all that comes your way.

PS: I am responding with my limited awareness and experiences. This is simply a guideline with the intention to support, guide and bring clarity.
