Why should I study Yoga Nidra?
If you love Yoga, seek Yoga, study Yoga, teach Yoga or any aspect of Yoga you must learn about Yoga Nidra. The study of yoga cannot end until we experience Yoga, become Yoga. Yoga does not end at meditation. Infant the biggest mystery is how to extend that momentary experience of meditation and bridge the gap between Dhyana and Samadhi. That missing link is Yoga nidra which allows us to create a consistent and continuous flow of absorption. Even a meditative mind is subject to vrittis, emotions, various thought conscructs and mind fields. Yoga Nidra practice allows one to be absorbed at the deepest, subtlest and most consolidated states of mind and yet perform day to day activities. It allows mediation to be a continuous flow instead of a momentary experience.
What will I learn in your program?
This 5 days training allows me to take you in-depth of this subject matter. It is beyond the passing on of a technique. It allows you to see Yoga nidra as a philosophy, science, therapy and personal practice.
Yoga nidra is a stateless state of mind. It is the silence that follows OM. It is the pathway that leads to Samadhi and in its ripening becomes Turiya itself. For attaining, achieving, experiences and living such a states needs preparation and practice. In this training, you will learn the pre-practice, the many ways to practice as well as the post practices. It is a process and every step must to understood, honored, welcomed and practiced.
Apart from this, you will learn the history, the many meaning, the textual references, the goal, the purpose and the importance of Yoga Nidra.
You will be exposed to a platform in which we discuss, discover and explore Yoga Nidra instead of a linear approach where I teach and you learn.
It is a responsibility to keep exploring truth, keep exploring new ways to do the same thing. It is a responsibility to keep opening the various brackets and parentheses we put around practices. Read my blog post on Yoga and BODMAS.

Will I learn to practice 2 minutes Yoga Nidra?
The quickest method to attain the state of Yoga nidra is simply by saying/ feeling/ even desiring "I am now entering into Yoga Nidra". However, to reach that state we must practice sincerely, with pure intentions on a regular basis. In order to attain that state we must first understand what is that state.
Until then there is no 2 minute, 10 minute or 20 minutes Yoga nidra practice. There is no fast forward to it. It is no magic capsule. Even if someone is guiding you in Yoga nidra, it does not necessarily mean that you will attain it. It is a process and during this process there might be a moment of Yoga nidra experienced with awareness or not. What you might experience as a result of the practice itself is deep rest. But if rest is the goal, practice shavasana instead of Yoga nidra.
What Yoga Nidra technique do you teach?
My technique is my understanding of the subject and there is no one single pathway. There are many. My intention is to open your mind and empower you and not make you fixated to one method.
We have reduced everything to methods, techniques and steps.
Everything that leads to Yoga Nidra is not Yoga nidra.
Nidra is not a technique, list of methods, relaxation or a magic wand to ask for miracles and boons.
It is a state of mind which is beyond mind. It is a journey from mind to mindfulness (fullness and presence of mind) to mind-less-ness (transcendence of mind).
May we all first learn how to transition from sleep to waking up and from awake to sleep mindfully. Only then we can understand how to transition from dream state to deep sleep without loosing the stream of awareness.
Can Yoga Nidra help in sleep?
1) Only sleep can substitute sleep.
2) No medicine, relaxation, mantra, herb, oil or practice can do the job of sleep, however they can create that pleasantness in mind to enter sleep effortlessly or easily.
3)Yoga Nidra can reduce the number of hours taken by the mind and body to be rejuvenated relaxed and refreshed but that is not its main purpose.
4) Yoga Nidra was not devised for combating sleep issues, however it can help a person to solve some of the issues (unresolved mental and emotional knots) that cause sleep problems.
5) Why do you want to replace sleep at all? It is a blessing! Every single day it gives us the chance to forget all the pains, all the stories and brings the taste of freedom, the glimpse if at all of the lowest level of Samadhi. The outer and the inner both worlds dissolve and become one. The taste of nothingness is the nectar we drink everyday to feel alive.
6) Substitutions have led to supplements becoming food and electronics becoming relationships. Let us acknowledge that not everything can and should be substituted. Moderation is a better rule.
7) Yoga Nidra is an extremely powerful tool! Use it to replace negative tendencies and thoughts. Release habits and conditionings. Rewrite your story and use it to strengthen or know your Dharma!
Is Yoga Nidra a meditation?
No, but it allows one to meditate deeper and sustain the meditative mind for an extended time.
What do Yogis do in Yoga nidra?
They never fall asleep
Yet they are never sleep deprived
They always stay asleep
Yes they always stay awake
They are the Yogis in Nidra
The moments slipping like the sand
Yet every grain is counted
Will I become a Yoga Nidra Teacher after this training?
It is up to you what you want to become. There are 2 levels to the Yoga Nidra training. Level I is all about what, how and why of Yoga Nidra and Level II is also about how to share Yoga nidra as a practice and many ways to share. If you would like to become a Yoga Nidra facilitator, I would highly recommend you to join both the levels. I would still add that to become or not to become a teacher of a a subject like Yoga and Yoga nidra is not limited by a certificate, it is about your level of practice and your desire to share with purest of intentions.
Is this training open to anyone?
Yes, anyone who sincerely, out of curiosity wants to learn it can join it. Wisdom in not bound by age and the only pre-requisite is desire.
Are there CEU's for this training?
Yoga teachers with Yoga alliance registration will be eligible for CEU's through this training.
