Yoga Nidra is an ancient practice with incredible relevance in the modern world. With an excess of tension and worries, discomfort and uneasiness, and fears and phobias, our students need a vehicle to connect deeply to their true nature, peace, health and self-awareness. This increased self-awareness helps us to remain detached and calm amidst the chaos of our daily lives. Yoga Nidra provides a path for rediscovery of our true nature and the many benefits that can be realized from its practice.
February 6, Thursday, Day 0 (4:40 pm - 7:30 pm CST): Introduction and Welcome to the Cohort.
In the first session of this training, we will cover key details to set the foundation for our journey. You’ll be introduced to the structure of the training, the daily schedule, and fellow participants, gaining clarity on how the program will unfold. We’ll also share important information about replays, resources, and recommended tools to enhance your experience.
Additionally, we’ll dive into an introduction to Yoga Nidra, laying the groundwork for the practice. Please come prepared with any props that will support your comfort and ease during the session.

February 8, Saturday, Day 1 (10: 00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. CST) : Basics, Myths and Science of Yoga Nidra
The first main day of the Yoga Nidra training offers a comprehensive introduction to the foundations, science, and practice of Yoga Nidra. The day includes three guided practice sessions and two interactive Q&A discussions to deepen your understanding. We will explore key topics such as the meaning and purpose of Yoga Nidra, the distinction between Shavasana and Yoga Nidra, the signs and stages of the practice, and its connection to brain waves, states of mind, and consciousness. You’ll also learn about the science of sleep and how preparatory breathwork supports the practice of Yoga Nidra. This foundational day sets the stage for your transformative journey into this powerful technique.

February 9, Sunday, Day 2 (10: 00 a.m. - 1: 00 p.m. CST): Vedic, Tantrik, Upanishadic, and Puranic Roots of Yoga Nidra
On the second day of the Yoga Nidra training, we’ll dive into the rich scriptural roots of the practice, exploring its Vedic, Tantrik, Upanishadic, and Puranic foundations. Through references from texts such as the Yoga Sutras, Yoga Vashishtha, Bhagavad Gita, Rig Veda, Mandukya Upanishad, and the Vijnana Bhairava Tantra, we’ll uncover the deep historical and philosophical context of Yoga Nidra. Each day includes three Yoga Nidra practice sessions to deepen your experience, along with ample opportunities for interactive Q&A to clarify and expand your understanding.

Day three focuses on the often-overlooked yet essential aspect of Yoga Nidra: preparation. You’ll learn how preparation, tailored to the individual, time of day, and season, makes the practice both effective and accessible. This session will cover the Tri Kriyas of Yoga Nidra, the main steps for preparation, the role of essential props, and how to design your own sequence of pre-practices. We’ll also explore the significance of breath in Yoga Nidra. With three guided Yoga Nidra practice sessions and ample time for Q&A, this day will provide the tools to enhance and personalize your Yoga Nidra experience, addressing a crucial component often missing in many teachings.

With three guided Yoga Nidra sessions and ample opportunities for Q&A, this day emphasizes bridging the gap between practice and life, ensuring Yoga Nidra becomes a transformative and continuous experience

We’ll also cover how to prepare for and self guide a Yoga Nidra session effectively. The day will include a comprehensive summary of the training, opportunities for Q&A to clarify any remaining questions, and a graduation ceremony to celebrate your journey. This concluding session ensures you’re ready to appreciate the transformative power of Yoga Nidra.

1. Are there any prerequisites for this training?
A seeking heart is the only requirement. Come and fill your cup.
2. Who is this training for?
This course is for anyone seeking insight into rest practices, shavasana, yoga nidra and deepen Yoga Studies to have a better understanding of the role of Ayurveda in Yoga practices . It will benefit anyone from a yoga seeker, yoga teacher, yoga therapist, Ayurveda counselor, energy healer, or curious learner.
3. Is this course suitable for all levels of physical ability?
Yes, most of the practices are simple to do and do not require extreme physical flexibility, strength, or even a large amount of time. This course is designed for current times where time is of the essence and accessibility is a must. Apart from this, the participant will learn a variety of techniques and have access to diverse tools. This is to make sure that we start from where we are comfortable and ready. The trainer’s philosophy is “The participant is welcome at their own pace.”
4. Is it a specific style of Yoga that will be taught in the course?
Indu Arora, the trainer of the course, is equipped with the knowledge and practice of Kriya Yoga, Himalayan Yoga, Sivananda Yoga, Ayurveda, Tantra, Kashmir Shaivism, Bhakti Yoga, and Yoga Therapy. She combines the wisdom of all these streams in her trainings, workshops, and courses.
5. Will I be able to apply this information to my classes or sessions if I am a yoga teacher or yoga therapist?
Absolutely, you can. That is the goal—to learn, apply, and share in this order. It is crucial and suggested that we first apply the teachings to understand and support our own growth and emotions. This allows us to share with integrity, truthfulness, and from a place of realization.
6. How much time do we dedicate to practice versus theory in this course?
Each session will include 3 practice sessions, the morning session is typically 60 minutes, mid-day and afternoon sessions are about 30 minutes each. The remaining time is divided between theory and real-time Q and A.
7. Will this training accommodate different time zones?
We’ve selected times that will hopefully accommodate participants in various time zones, though it’s impossible to make the time ideal for everyone. If you are unable to attend the live sessions, you can watch each session’s recording.
8. Can I get contact continuing education hours ?
Yes! Currently, Yoga Alliance, IAYT and NAMA are accepting all continuing education completed online. This includes both contact and non-contact hours.
9. What tools will I need for attending this course?
Yoga mat, any props (as needed), journaling notebook, and mediation cushion. Check the required books and tools in the course description section.
10. Will there be any handouts, reading material, resources included in the price of the course?
Participants will be provided with handouts/worksheets as a part of the course. Indu Arora will also guide the participant toward important resources for reading, watching, and listening.
11. Is there any test/assessment involved?
The worksheets are provided to the participants as a guideline. There is no formal submission of assignments
12. Is there any scholarships or discounts that I can apply for to attend this training.
