A unique formulation of syllables strung together in a precise meter, rhythm, and number, mantras mystically and effortlessly transform the state of our mind from chaos to calm, clutter to clear, and sound to silence. Mantra Unlocked will not only bust some common myths around these sacred sonic formulas, but it will also give insight into their meaning, power, and practice. Session 1: Basics Unlocked, July 19
What is a Mantra? This question may seem redundant especially when the word itself is used in everyday language in place of affirmation, magic wand, and sacred code of success. However, that is precisely why we need to dig into its roots to develop connection to its ancient meaning, purpose, and practice.
Practices: 5 Main Mantras as Invocation through Nyasa

Session 2: AUM Unlocked, July 26
Aum or Om is the most common mantra practiced in Yoga classes. Learn the meaning, purpose, and seven levels of Om. We will also explore why it is recited three times, which syllable must be emphasized in the recitation, and some of the examples of cultural appropriation related to this mantra.

Session 3: Mantra Japa Unlocked, August 2
Mantra Japa is a traditional tool for meditation in Yoga, Tantra, and Vedic texts. Learn about different types of Japa and the difference between mantras for Japa, invocation, and recitation. How do you hold Japa Mala? What qualifies a string of beads as Japa Mala, how to care for the Japa Mala, how many recitations makes it a Japa? The mantra for dosha pacification will be shared during the session.
Practice: Mantra for Dosha Japa
Tools: Japa Mala (Rudraksha for kapha dosha, Clear Crystal for vata dosha, Lotus Seed for pitta dosha)
Eligible for 9 CEU's from Yoga Alliance and Continuing Education Credits from IAYT
Certificate will be issued upon request.
