Are you a Yoga Teacher, Yoga Instructor, or a trainee who is juggling with the idea of cultural appropriation in Yoga? Let the fear and ignorance not get the best of you.
August 16, 2024
Are you a Yoga Teacher, Yoga Instructor, or a trainee who is juggling with the idea of cultural appropriation in Yoga? Do you have pressing questions that have not been answered yet? Are you confused or overwhelmed if you should even study or teach Yoga? Is saying Namaste appropriation? Is it important to use Sanskrit, have a mantra, wear a Japa Mala or have a spiritual name in Yoga?
Let the fear and ignorance not get the best of you. If Yoga is your calling, then let us have this much needed conversation. Educate and move forward with a renewed, even more firm determination. Learn all that is important, empowering and crucial about cultural appropriation versus appreciation. Learn in the context of 10 Yamas and Niyamas from Patanjali Yoga Sutras about Cultural Appropriation. It is my hope that this will serve as a clear, empowering and supportive guideline for you to live, love and share your Yoga in ways that are authentic, respectful and informed.
The workshop will also provide the opportunity for Q and A. It is primarily a conversation with a short seated centering practice. Bring any props as needed to support the seated position.
Date: Friday August 16th, 1 pm - 5 pm
Cost: $120
Note: No refunds available for online offerings.
