Chakra Meditations

Saturday Oct 14th • 9:30am - 12:30pm CDT

The common knowledge around chakras is not only incomplete but also incorrect many a time. Being an esoteric system, it is crucial to draw inspiration and information from ancient Tantric and Vedic texts, otherwise it becomes a gooey mix—mystical, magical, and questionable. The appropriation around this subject is palpable and plenty. In this workshop we will explore chakra meditations as described in Patanjali Yoga Sutras and the connection between prana, dosha and marma. Studying Yoga Sutras can deeply transform and inform the personal practice. Wisdom is not gained in memorizing, reading translations, singing, or listening to the Yoga Sutras, although each one of the aforesaid is beneficial and adds to the full picture. The goal must be to pick up a sutra and find every single possibility to live it and live by. Welcome this esoteric knowledge in a grounded, practical, and digestible format.
